About Pastor Davy Troxel
In December of 2015, Pastor Davy L. Troxel celebrates his fourteenth year as pastor of Mishawaka Grace Brethren Church. This is his third pastoral position, having also led churches in New Albany, IN. and Osceola, IN., for a total of thirty-two years in the ministry.
Pastor Troxel received his seminary training at Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, IN. graduating with a Master of Divinity in 1983. Before entering the ministry, Pastor Troxel received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and spent several years in retail work and factory operations.
Other recognitions include the Merle D. Blue Excellence in Humanities Award from the Northern Indiana Historical Society and a first place for Best Christian Song from a Southern Indiana music writing contest.
Pastor Troxel draws from many and varied life experiences --- such as Sheriff's Chaplain, entertainer, a trip to Israel, and the loss of a child and two grandchildren --- to help apply the power and compassion of God's Word to all areas of life. His sermons are expository and exegetical and based on the study of God's Word in the original languages in order to be as accurate as possible in "rightly dividing the word of God". Along with the accuracy, you will find the sermons and the services interspersed with humor, accenting the joy that should flavor the believer's life.
Pastor Troxel has also taught at the seminary level, coordinates and leads marriage retreats, and offers personal counseling.
He and his wife Ronda, have been married for forty years and have three children and four grandchildren.
